Akira: Hm? What's that sound...? A guitar?

(Ah, it's Cain.)

That song has such a beautiful melody. Did you write that?

Cain: Hey, Akira, didn't see you there. Yep, it's a brand new song, hot off the press.

Akira: I knew it! I just had a feeling it was yours the second I heard it— everyone here's such a huge fan of your songs.

Cain: Thanks, man! But I've still got a ways to go. Just practicing every day 'til my fingers go numb isn't enough.

I've gotta keep polishing my skills 'til my music's the best of the best.

Akira: You're pretty serious about this, huh?

Cain: Ahaha. It's all so I can make my dream come true.

Akira: Your dream?

Cain: I want to perform all over the world. What language you speak and what country you're from doesn't matter when it comes to music.

There's not a place out there untouched by some kind of strife. But when people sing the same songs, they feel the same feelings. I want my music to bring everyone together like that, to get their hearts to beat as one.

Well, not that there's not people out there who laugh at me and make fun of my music, calling it "more saccharine than cream," that kinda thing. But so long as I believe in myself, whatever other people say doesn't matter.

Akira: There are people who make fun of you?

Cain: Yep. There's this guy who starts tearing into all the problems with my music whenever we see each other.

The other day, he was going on, like, "Your chord progressions are too old-fashioned, they don't evoke any emotion," stuff like that.

But I noticed he's following my social media, so I guess he's rooting for me on despite what he says.

Akira: I'm sure that's what it is. I'm cheering your dream on too, Cain!

Cain: Whenever I make my dream come true, I'll make sure you've got front row seats!
