As I was walking with Owen through the Cavern of Time, we could hear the beating of the Iestrum's wings mixing with the sound of dripping water, carrying a conversation from the past.

Young, Low Male Voice: Hey, be more careful. What're you gonna do if he's not chained up in there?

Young, Cheerful Male Voice: I'm tellin' you, it's fiiiine. That whole thing about how they locked up a wizard in a basement is just a lie they tell to scare the villagers.

If the story we heard from the late Ryu were actually true, it'd mean that wizard has been trapped up in here for about a hundred years without any food or water.

Wizards may be wizards, but it's not like they're immortal. And even if he really was ever down here, he'd have turned to stone a long time ago.

(Sound of a door opening)

Young, Low Male Voice: ... It's so dark I can't see anything... There really isn't anyone here.

Light glints off the shining eyes of the Iestrum bats. Owen stares into the depths of the cave from where he stands beside me.

Akira: ... Did you hear those voices just now...?

Owen: ... Dunno.

I guess I didn't really hear them all that well.
