Songbirds had gathered around Owen when I last saw him. Owen claims animals are boring because they never speak ill of anyone, but I can't help but be a little jealous he can talk to animals at all...

Owen doesn't want others to know the nature of his strange wound, so I want to do everything in my power to help him. However, he won't let me spend much time with him.


Owen said he used to work as a wolf hunter. Though Owen says he prefers humans to animals because humans have more "graphic" malice, he himself admitted he doesn't fully understand why he's as attracted to malice as he is.

Owen had been lying there in a heap on the ground, eyes wide open. Had he just been playing dead, or did he really die there...? Perhaps it was because Cain was worrying over him that he grew agitated, because he left before Cain could finish talking.

Cain and Arthur were practicing their swordwork against one another earlier. Though Arthur is also taught swordsmanship at the castle, I'm told he sometimes takes lessons from Cain because Cain doesn't hold back. The both of them were so cool!

Cain told me about his time with the Order of Knights, and how no one there would lock their doors. He mentioned they'd often barge into each other's rooms to invite people on outings or to spend time with one another. I hope the manor will one day be like that, too.


Cain was expelled from the Order when Owen revealed Cain as a wizard. However, he's chosen to remain positive instead of dwelling on the matter. He doesn't seem to be the type to hold a grudge for too long.

Cain and Lennox had an arm wrestling competition. The match was so intense and reached such a feverish pitch, the table beneath them couldn't take it, and its legs bent wildly out of place. An arm wrestling match between a former knight and a former soldier are on a whole other level...

Translation Notes
1. This is ambiguous even in Japanese, leading to Japanese fandom speculating as to who "you" is. In Japanese, Owen's "you" here is the rude「おまえ」(omae), which is unusual for him, as he generally refers to people with the more subdued 「きみ」(kimi). According to Japanese fandom, the only time Owen has notably referred to anyone as "omae" is a specific instance with Cain.

Japanese fandom also speculates he may be referring to Akira, and answered "you" in a rude manner when Akira may have asked him what he struggled with, just to get under Akira's skin. (It's worth noting that Akira did go around interviewing all the wizards in their affection stories, though Japanese fandom noted Owen refers to Akira as "kimi" throughout his affection story. Still, that doesn't wholly discount this interpretation.) ↑
