Chapter One
Location: Manor Hallway (Night)
Owen: ... Bored. I wonder who I should play with tonight.
Hm? This presence belongs to—
???: Find Cain!
??? (2): Even Bradley will do! Or perhaps even Nero— Oof!!
Owen: Running right into me like that... Do you want to die?
Snow, White.
Snow: Well, if it isn't Owen!
White: My, if it isn't Owen!
Owen: ... I didn't ask you to be happy to see me.
White: Very well, so it shall be Owen. Then.
Snow: Yes, very well. Then it shall be Owen. Owen, won't you come with us to our room?
White: Horrifying though it may be, a creature has manifested therein.
Owen: Oh? So there truly is a magical beast so powerful that even the two of you cannot subdue it?
White: It's a mouse!!
Owen: A mouse?
Snow: With that little creature out and about, we feel ill at ease not knowing when it might nibble through our painting.
White: Thus, we can hardly achieve restful sleep within the painting on this night.
Snow: Owen. Won't you use your power to oust it from our room? You can, after all, communicate with animals.
Owen: ... Sure.
Snow: I see, so it's a "no," then.
White: As we thought, it's a "no," then.
Snow & White: ... Hm? Come again?
Owen: I'm not going to wait for you two. (Leaves)
Snow & White: Ah!! We're coming too—!
Chapter Two
Location: Snow and White's Room (Night)
Snow: I can hardly believe it. Owen undertaking our request without the slightest touch of fuss?
White: Perhaps we'll see pigs flying on the morrow.
Owen: Come now; come out.
Mouse: ... Squeak~
Snow & White: Kya—! It's here—!
Owen: There we go; what a good boy. Come here.
Snow: Owen! Tell the mouse to leave!
White: You're simply leading it deeper within our room!
Owen: Now, I wonder what would be the most fun?
Snow: Hm? What are you talking abo— Owen, why are you holding our portrait...?
White: What are you intending...?
Owen: I just figured I ought to feed this hungry animal first.
Snow: You... Owen, you intended from the start to feed our portrait to this mouse, did you not?
Owen: Haha, what a cruel accusation. Do you doubt my good intentions?
White: Owen. You're a good boy, so put the painting down.
Owen: Heyyy... If this mouse gnaws off a chunk of your heads in the painting... I wonder just what'll happen to you?
Would a chunk of your heads be missing, too?
Snow & White: ...!! Owen, wait—
Owen: ......
Snow & White: ... Owen?
Owen (wound): ... Hello, Mister Mouse. Where did you come from?
Snow: Oh, dear... Could this be the effect of Owen's curious wound?
White: True enough; Owen's wound makes him quite the gentle-hearted child...
Snow: Owen, could we ask you to tell that mouse we'd like it to leave our room?
Owen: If I do it, would I be doing a good job?[1]
Snow: Yes, a very good job!
White: An extremely good job!
Owen (wound): Okay...! Ummm, Mister Mouse...
Mouse: Squeak~ Squeak~
Snow & White: Kya—! It's coming this way—!
Owen (wound): It's okay. Mister Mouse said he's just looking for a new house to live in.
Snow: I see... I see... Phew... My, my, Owen is quite the difficult child.
White: However, you did very well, Owen. Allow us to praise you in excess.
Owen (wound): Ehehehehe.
Translation Notes
1. Potential (vague) spoilers for Main Story chapter 19; highlight below to read.
"Good boy/girl/child" (いい子, ii ko) and "good job"/"impressive" (えらい, erai) are two common ways to praise children in Japanese. "Erai," however, has varying English translations depending on the context of how the child is being praised. Being an "ii ko" and "erai" are important concepts to (wound) Owen, so I may change my translation of "erai" to match whatever the main story translators eventually use just to keep these concepts consistently translated where possible.
As a side note, all the "good boys" you see in this chapter (Owen referring to the mouse and White referring to Owen) are instances of "ii ko."
