(Card Story) Oz's True Nature
Aug. 16th, 2021 05:40 pm
Card: [R] (Messing up the Board) Owen
Event: Rhapsody of the Shooting-star Bridge
Characters: Akira, Owen
Location: Granvelle Castle Courtyard (Day)
Owen: Master, Master. Do you think Oz is a good wizard? Or an evil one?
Akira: That certainly came out of nowhere... Why do you ask?
Owen: You're a gullible person, Master, so I was wondering if he's managed to fool you. I want to know what you really think.
The humans in the castle called him "a wicked and terrifying wizard," and they said they try not to make eye contact with him lest they be turned to stone.
They understand him very well. He'll never pass as a good person, no matter how hard he tries to pretend he is.
Akira: ... I don't think he's "pretending." He's been very polite when teaching magic to Riquet, and everyone else.
And he even sits and participates in snack time with them between lessons. No matter how you look at it, he's a teacher with a heart of gold!
Owen: Haha. Look at you, Master. He has you completely fooled.
I know what Oz is really like. I can't count the number of times he's killed me, after all.
Akira: ... Do you dislike Oz?
Owen: I hate him.
I can't stand it when he pretends to be a good person. I can't stand how he's stronger than me.
And I hate how I can't kill him even in the dead of night, when he can't even use magic. I hate everything about him.
Akira: (Strange as it is to say, Owen's really put a lot of thought into Oz's strengths...)
